This role involves responding to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on complex customer's biomedical equipment. The position drives customer satisfaction through Service Excellence and may function as a Site Leader. Responsibilities include evaluating complex customer biomedical equipment issues, implementing appropriate repairs, performing PM and safety/environmental inspections, and maintaining effective customer relations. The technician will lead others regarding appropriate GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and complete necessary documentation. Proactive daily communication with customers is essential to ensure resolution and follow-up, leading to strong customer relations and satisfaction. The role requires effective communication and partnership with teammates and colleagues, implementing GE/customer facility contracts, and supporting customer and business goals. The technician will lead, instruct, and assist other technicians on basic and complex repairs, and work as a member of a local team to provide efficient service delivery. This includes delegating tasks and performing administrative duties. Proactive outreach to team members for help, sharing best practices, and mentoring is expected. On-call responsibility is shared. Documentation of all repair actions and submission of reports/summaries according to schedule are required. Proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, including calibration, is necessary. Maintaining approved parts inventory and managing vendor service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies are also key. Enhancing and maintaining technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction is crucial. The role may involve performing the duties of a site leader, such as directing activities of fellow BMETs, engaging in a more interactive customer relationship, interacting with customer leadership, and participating in a Safety Committee. Meeting Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements, and all other applicable regulatory requirements is mandatory.
