About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Clinical Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Biomedical Technician 2 to work in Miami, FL. The Biomedical Technician 2 performs a variety of routine tasks, including the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment with minimum supervision.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.

Responsibilities

Oversees recall and safety alert programs for medical devices, including medical device hazard investigations, to assure compliance with patient safety goals and applicable requirements.
Prioritizes work load effectively and completes all work assignments in a timely manner.
Maintains accurate medical equipment documentation.
Orders parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment.
Conducts cross-training in the techniques of testing, calibrating, operating, and troubleshooting biomedical systems, for less experienced technicians.
Reports and documents all medical equipment operation errors and safety issues.
Maintains medical equipment technical library and makes updates when appropriate.
Supervises services provided by outside vendors to ensure quality and scope of services have been met.
Inspects incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
