Provides Planned Maintenance (PM), safety testing, repairs, calibration, installation, routine and emergency service to general and various specialized diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment, as assigned by the Clinical Engineering (CE) Manager. This role involves performing PM procedures on multiple types of general and specialized clinical equipment, using manufacturer’s recommendations, standards, or code requirements, as well as industry-acceptable processes. The technician will also perform corrective maintenance procedures, diagnose problems using various scientific principles, and document all activities to comply with regulatory and standard requirements. They will interact with clinical staff to resolve operational problems and schedule PM procedures while minimizing interference to hospital departments. Additionally, the role requires determining the need for replacement parts and supplies, selecting cost-effective sources, and completing work order documentation. The technician will also provide on-call service coverage after business hours, assist and train Biomedical Equipment Technician I associates, and may be assigned Lead Bio-Medical Equipment Technician duties. A strong understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program is essential.
