This role involves responding to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on customers' basic biomedical equipment. The technician will drive customer satisfaction through service excellence. Under supervision, the technician will evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and as assigned, perform PM and safety/environmental inspections. This position may involve assisting more experienced technicians on basic and more complex repairs/resolution. The technician will effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues, follow appropriate GE policies and procedures, hospital protocol, and complete necessary documentation. Daily communication with customers is expected to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to strong customer relations and ongoing customer satisfaction. The role also involves implementing GE/customer facility contracts and supporting business goals/objectives, working as a member of a local team to provide efficient service delivery, and sharing on-call responsibility when trained. Documentation of all repair actions and submission of reports/summaries according to schedule is required. Proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, and ensuring calibration are also key responsibilities. The technician will enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction and utilize sources of help (i.e., manuals, tech support, Facetime app, online resources) to answer questions when performing PM. Compliance with Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements, and all other applicable regulatory requirements is mandatory.
