About The Position

Sodexo's Healthcare Technology Management Division is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician III to support Healthcare Technology service for Endeavor Health's Glenbrook Hospital located in Glenview, IL. This role requires a high level of technical troubleshooting skills, decision-making abilities regarding equipment repairs and service, excellent customer service, time management, and effective communication skills. The technician will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, safety checks, and repairs on various biomedical equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining accurate records, providing timely service, collaborating with clinical staff, and adhering to regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment
  • 7 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting
  • Considerable knowledge of electronic circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
  • Substantial knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation
  • Skill in testing electronic equipment
  • Manual dexterity, hand-to-eye coordination, and color vision.

Nice To Haves

  • 7-10 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting.
  • Basic knowledge of networking theory.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, safety checks, and repairs on a variety of biomedical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure equipment functionality and patient safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and performance testing.
  • Provide timely and efficient service while prioritizing urgent repair needs.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to understand equipment issues and deliver excellent customer support.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards related to healthcare technology management.
