About The Position

Sodexo's growing Healthcare Technology Management Division is seeking solution-oriented candidates who excel at customer service with a proven success as an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician I to support Healthcare Technology service for Nebraska Medicine located in Omaha, NE. The main role/responsibilities of the position will be to ensure all related biomedical equipment is maintained in a quality and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service and communications skills as well as strong technical skills and commitment to deliver excellent repair service in an expedient manner.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience repairing, maintaining and calibrating medical devices and beds independently and/or equivalent college coursework in similar capacities.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Experience with minor repairs (preferably on beds, stretchers, IV pumps and other smaller equipment).
  • The ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical devices.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and time management skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s license record check is required.
  • Associate's Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment and/or equivalent of military BMET program and/or AAMI certified.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, maintain and calibrate a basic range of clinical equipment, devices, systems, and instruments.
  • Provide customer relations and resolve equipment service problems by ensuring that clinical capability is restored as quickly as possible.
  • Maintain communication with customers regarding the status of equipment repairs.
  • Focus on customer needs and ensuring all HTM related functions are completed in a quality and timely manner to include medical device preventive and corrective maintenance and other related matters.
