About The Position
The BMET assists in the operation, support and repair of clinical equipment, and supports the Clinical Technology Program.
Requirements
- Good understanding of health care practices and safety.
- Working knowledge of human physiology and anatomy.
- Considerable knowledge of the latest and most advanced troubleshooting, calibration and repair techniques.
- Considerable knowledge of electronics, including solid state technology and both linear and digital circuit operations.
- An AAS degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of five years experience in the maintenance of clinical equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Seven to ten years experience in a health care environment.
- Certification eligible.
- Considerable knowledge of a broad range of biomedical equipment.
- Working knowledge of all applicable Federal, State, TJC, OSHA and NFPA regulations, standards and guidelines.
- Demonstrate high proficiency in at least one equipment modality (i.e. lab analyzers, anesthesia equipment, and surgical lasers).
