This role is a Full Time position with a standard 40-hour work week, operating on a Day shift. The position is within the Clinical Engineering department.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED and 4 years of experience that is closely related within a hospital, the military or any other comparable organization required
• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State with means of transportation to service offsite locations upon hire required

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree in Electronic or Instrumentation Technology with particular focus on Biomedical Engineering Technology preferred
• Excellent customer service skills required
• Able to read schematics and mechanical diagrams preferred
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Advanced networking and system integrations preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Responsible for service on low, medium, and/or high risk equipment as described in the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
• Completes preventive maintenance, safety inspection, calibration, installing, advanced troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electromechanical and electronic devices.
• Requires servicing equipment in both the hospital environment as well as at numerous offsite locations.
• Works in close proximity to patients and staff in intensive care units and operating room settings.
• Interfaces with all the members of the Clinical Engineering team effectively.
• Performs safety/preventive maintenance inspections and services electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment to determine operational status and compliance with manufacturers and industry technical standards and specifications.
• Installs, maintains and calibrates electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
• Troubleshoots, isolates equipment malfunctions, and repairs electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment.
• Responds to operator complaints about equipment malfunctions, often involving correcting operator errors.
• Performs equipment modifications when instructions, diagrams, prints, or schematics are provided for technical guidance.
• Maintains electronic medical equipment management database files for compliance with departmental and accreditation requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
