Biomedical Engineering Intern

About The Position

The TRIMEDX Biomedical Engineering Intern receives on-the-job training by shadowing experienced clinical, biomedical, laboratory, and radiology engineers under close supervision of TRIMEDX management. The intern learns about engineers’ day-to-day work in a hospital environment, responding to service calls, workload management, repair and preventive maintenance documentation, vendor management, equipment calibration and troubleshooting, preventive maintenance procedures, electrical safety, and equipment repair. The intern also performs preventive maintenance procedures and inventory validation, and works alongside experienced technicians in a real-time service environment. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Be currently enrolled in an associate’s or technical degree program, or in the TRIMEDX Trained Certification program or an equivalent biomedical-related certification program.
Have strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pass pre-employment screening, including a limited background check and screening for illegal substance use.
Have a valid driver’s license.

Experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Shadow experienced clinical engineers, biomedical engineers, lab engineers, and radiology engineers under close management supervision.

Learn equipment calibration and troubleshooting techniques.
Train in preventive maintenance procedures, electrical safety, and equipment repair.
Perform preventive maintenance procedures and inventory validation.
Work alongside experienced technicians in a real-time service environment.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
