This role involves responding to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on customers' basic biomedical equipment. The goal is to drive customer satisfaction through service excellence. Under supervision, the technician will evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and perform PM and safety/environmental inspections. This position may involve assisting more experienced technicians on basic and more complex repairs. Effective communication and partnership with teammates and colleagues are essential. The technician must follow appropriate GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and complete necessary documentation. Daily communication with customers is required to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, fostering strong customer relations and satisfaction. As instructed, the role will implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business goals. Working as a member of a local team to provide efficient service delivery within the assigned area is expected. When trained, the technician will share on-call responsibility. All repair actions must be documented and reports/summaries submitted on schedule. Proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, and ensuring calibration are also responsibilities. The role requires enhancing and maintaining technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction. Understanding and utilizing sources of help such as manuals, tech support, the Facetime app, and online resources to answer questions during PM is necessary. The technician must meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements, and all other applicable regulatory requirements.
