This role involves responding to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on customers' basic biomedical equipment. The goal is to drive customer satisfaction through service excellence. Under supervision, the technician will evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and perform PM and safety/environmental inspections. This position may involve assisting more experienced technicians on basic and more complex repairs. Effective communication and partnership with teammates and colleagues are essential. The technician will follow appropriate GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and complete necessary documentation. Daily communication with customers is expected to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, fostering strong customer relations and satisfaction. As instructed, the role will implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business goals. The technician will work as a member of a local team to provide efficient service delivery and may share on-call responsibilities when trained. Documentation of all repair actions and timely submission of reports/summaries are required. Proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, along with ensuring calibration, is also a responsibility. Continuous enhancement and maintenance of technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction is expected. The technician will utilize resources like manuals, tech support, and online tools to answer questions during PM. Compliance with Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements, and all other applicable regulatory requirements is mandatory.
