About The Position

The Biomed Senior Systems Engineer is a clinical and patient front-facing role, responsible for the implementation, configuration, management, and ongoing support of Biomedical Engineering systems and applications. This position supports SHC in this capacity as it relates to Biomed system and application clinical workflow planning, design, implementation, testing, patching and lifecycle support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university, or any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
  • Advanced skills with Biomed technologies, toolsets, and methodologies such as: Network architectural diagrams, Physical and Virtual (VM) server management, Medical System Infrastructure and Architecture, Biomed Application support.
  • Experience performing the activities above in all user and server operating systems.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all internal and external stakeholders involved in Biomed systems support, as well as customers at all levels in the organization.
  • Strong task and time management skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong technical expertise on all aspects of end user systems.

  • Previous Healthcare Biomedical Engineering background preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the resolution of incidents related to Biomed systems and applications in the SHC environment, serving as a source of engineering support for Biomed devices, systems, and applications.
  • Responsible for the thorough documentation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of standardized processes around Biomed system and application management.
  • Provide functional expertise on projects and assist with requirement gathering, identification of emerging technologies, clinical workflows, and business case development.
  • Responsible for patching and upgrade testing of Biomed systems and applications in compliance with networking, cyber-security, and regulatory governing bodies across the Biomed environment.
  • Lead Biomed device level support for recall mitigation, software and hardware upgrades and high-level maintenance and support in compliance with governing regulatory bodies.
