About The Position

Archbishop Moeller, an all-male, Catholic high school (grades 9-12) in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a full-time Biology Teacher to join their dynamic, dedicated, and collaborative faculty. Founded in the Marianist tradition, Moeller emphasizes educating students in Mind, Body, and Spirit within a Community of Brothers. The school is recognized for its House System and leadership in technology integration, being a one-to-one tablet school for over 20 years. Moeller offers a comprehensive, college preparatory curriculum with numerous AP/College Credit Plus courses, as well as offerings in business, IT, arts, and world languages. The successful candidate, starting August 2026, will teach three sections of Honors Biology and two sections of the Molecular Biology Research course, which was developed in partnership with the BASIL community. Mentoring and professional development support will be provided.

Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree.
  • Ohio Teacher Certification (or be license eligible) as an Integrated Science teacher 7-12, Life Science teacher 7-12, or Physical Science teacher 7-12.
  • Classroom teaching experience.
  • Lifelong learner.
  • Comprehensive understanding of best practices for educating adolescent boys.
  • Ability to foster the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of each student.
  • Desire to support the academic vision and mission of Moeller High School.
  • Ability to pass an FBI background test.
  • Ability to be SafeParish certified through the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Safe Environment program.
  • Knowledge of, or openness to learn about, the Catholic faith.
  • Willingness to work for a Catholic agency and adhere to the policies of the School and Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the Molecular Biology Research Honors+ course (post-AP), an original-research laboratory course where students analyze and predict protein function, isolate potential enzymes from bacterial cells, and design experiments.
  • Oversee the Molecular Modeling Team, an extracurricular activity involving partnerships with university researchers and presentations at the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology convention.
  • Teach Biology courses through interactive, engaging lessons and laboratory experiences aligned with curricular and student goals.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and parents on academic progress via the Learner Management System (MoeCampus).
  • Participate in MoeTerm (a one-week experiential learning opportunity), departmental Professional Learning Communities, and attend educational conferences/workshops to enhance content, pedagogical, and technological knowledge.
