About The Position

This position involves working with students to develop fundamental biology knowledge and skills essential for their success, and to discover and develop their special talents in the field of science. The role requires educating students on state and district standards, planning and delivering effective instruction aligned with the district-provided curriculum, and implementing strategies to enhance student learning. The teacher will regularly assess student proficiency, adapt instruction, and create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment. Additionally, the role involves fostering respect among students, providing individual and small group support, maintaining student records, engaging in professional development, attending staff meetings, collaborating with colleagues, developing standards for critical analysis, and maintaining consistent attendance.

Requirements

State of Michigan Teacher Certification required
DA, DI or DX endorsement required

Responsibilities

Successfully educate students on state and district standards.
Consistent planning and delivery of effective instruction aligned with the district-provided curriculum.
Implement strategies to enhance students’ learning.
Regularly assess students' proficiency levels and adapt instruction accordingly.
Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
Foster respect and understanding among students of all backgrounds.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students as needed.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents/guardians.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
Attend staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional strategies.
Develop standards for critical analysis through group discussions.
Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
