About The Position
Virginia Western Community College is seeking part-time Biology Adjunct Faculty for the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Adjunct faculty are hired on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed to teach college-level biology courses. These courses can be taught in-person on the main Virginia Western campus or as hybrid classes with online lectures and in-person labs. Faculty are expected to stay current in their teaching disciplines and in community college education trends, and to actively participate in Biology department communications.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Biology or a related field.
- Experience teaching college-level biology courses.
- Ability to teach in-person and/or hybrid formats.
Nice To Haves
- Community college teaching experience.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
Responsibilities
- Teach college-level biology courses in-person or in a hybrid format.
- Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community college education.
