The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is responsible for managing and protecting the state’s renewable natural resources. The Office of Fisheries ensures aquatic resources are sustainable for present and future generations through access and scientific management. This position supports Marine Fisheries as a Coastal Study Area Biologist, domiciled in Orleans Parish. The role involves collecting fishery independent and dependent data from sampling programs, conducting field sampling, collecting and maintaining biological and environmental data, and operating and maintaining vessels and sampling equipment. The incumbent will also collect fishery dependent survey data and assist in developing aquatic habitat restoration projects.
