Serve as Biological Technician SME for Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Center for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR). This role involves assisting the Principal Investigator (PI) with the safe and effective scientific and administrative management of the laboratory and supporting staff. The technician will be knowledgeable and experienced in mammalian cell culture, molecular methods (cloning, expression, qPCR, etc.), and producing/purifying mRNA and recombinant protein products. Additionally, the role requires training in small rodent handling techniques, including blood collection, immunization, and dissection. Experience with good laboratory practices and performing immunological assays (ELISA, IFA, ELISpot, etc.) to support DHA relevant projects is essential. The technician will also track and maintain inventories of supplies, reagents, samples, and equipment, and will be responsible for writing and revising SOPs, risk assessments, and study reports/summaries. Managing notebooks, data files, and performing data analysis using basic statistical or graphic programs are key duties. Strong organization, project management, troubleshooting abilities, and proven oral and written communication skills are required.
