This position involves planning, designing, and conducting advanced research projects primarily involving RNA-scope of neurons and wide-field microscopy. The role requires performing recombinant DNA techniques and protein biochemistry. Additionally, the position will conduct research experiments investigating mechanisms of action of channel interfering compounds in rodent nociceptors, perform mammalian cell transfections, and utilize mammalian cell culture techniques, confocal and wide-field microscopy. The Biological Scientist I will also serve as a liaison between the PI/Director, lab staff, and collaborators, coordinate special studies, and ensure compliance with laboratory regulations. Responsibilities include managing the ordering process, maintaining lab supply inventory, and researching new products. The role also involves analyzing data and assembling results for scientific publications, grants, and conference presentations, assisting in preparing data for scientific manuscripts, and managing laboratory research records. The Biological Scientist I will also assist with literature searches and review, and aid in the development of new research and laboratory protocols.
