The Cruchaga Lab in the Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Bioinformatics Research Assistant to participate in developing and conducting research projects, participating in experiment design and documentation of experimental results, and computational data analysis. This role involves assisting research studies with the implementation of existing algorithms and computer software for analyzing omics-based data sets (high-throughput, massively parallel genomic/proteomic/clinical), and data management and analysis solutions that assist in storage, investigation, and dissemination of large data sets. The assistant will work with the research team to develop new algorithms, participate in developing hypotheses and methods for testing them, and conduct research experiments. The position requires compliance with established safety procedures, maintenance of required documentation, and assistance with reporting and evaluating research results.
