Biochemistry Affiliate Instructor
About The Position
This posting is for an applicant pool for affiliate faculty in Biochemistry. These are temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions that vary from semester to semester based on program needs. The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for these positions. The primary responsibility is to teach biochemistry and introduction to organic & biological science courses at basic and advanced undergraduate levels, including lecture and laboratory components. MSU Denver is a diverse university serving over 16,000 students, with a federal designation as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and the only Seal of Excelencia certified institution in Colorado.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or closely related field.
- Ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population.
- Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.

Responsibilities
- Teach biochemistry and introduction to organic & biological science courses (lecture and laboratory) at basic and advanced undergraduate levels.
- Deliver course content to students in assigned classes, either in person or online.
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
- Grade student work and provide timely, robust feedback.
- Address student questions in accordance with university, college/school, and department policies.
- Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed.
- Provide instruction consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and department coordination policies.
- Comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
- Adapt and learn new modes of instruction.
- Be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
