About The Position

This Biochemist I position offers a unique opportunity to make a global impact on patient health and well-being while working with Siemens’ innovative Atellica automation platform. In this role, you will partner closely with Manufacturing, providing technical expertise and guidance to support the development and testing of diagnostic reagents used by clinical laboratories across Atellica, Centaur, and Centaur CP systems. Reporting to the Senior Supervisor of Technical Operations, you will contribute to a diverse assay portfolio spanning HIV, Oncology, therapeutic drug monitoring, congenital conditions, and immunosuppressant therapies. This full-time, onsite role is based at our Walpole, MA location. This position also involves hands-on work with a wide range of materials, including hazardous and DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) controlled substances.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Biochemistry and/or Molecular Biology
  • Industry Experience working on design and/or process change projects and CAPAs is preferred
  • Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills
  • Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to switch priorities to meet business needs
  • Strong command of PC skills (MS Office 365 software like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) and statistical methods (Minitab preferred)
  • Must pass a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with optimization of immunoassays preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting to investigate technical issues associated with immunoassay reagents and testing components.
  • Leading projects throughout the project life cycle
  • Coordinating and carrying out root cause investigations with cross-functional teams (QC, QA, Manufacturing, Tech Transfer, and R&D to resolved issues in production/validation.
  • Create and participate in the design of experiments (DOE)
  • Writing compliance documentation associated with technical investigations, data analyses, and experimental conclusions
  • Working in the laboratory running Atellica, Centaur, and CP instrumentation with serum and other biological fluids of human and animal origin
