About The Position

United Direct Solutions is seeking a full-time Bindery Operator for its Louisville, Kentucky facility. The role processes mail and converts post-press products into finished products by following job tickets and customer requirements. The operator sets up, troubleshoots, and operates mailing equipment; monitors equipment efficiency and product quality; completes and documents quality checks; and performs general equipment maintenance as needed. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. When overtime is needed, hours may be 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Overtime and weekends as needed are listed in the schedule information.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Mechanical aptitude.
Basic math skills.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

One year of mail equipment experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; this is preferred but not necessary.
One year of Cutter/Bindery experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

Sort all classes of mail and perform intermediate setups, troubleshooting, and operation of mailing equipment.
Process mail equipment jobs by converting post-press product into finished product according to job ticket instructions.
Ensure mailing equipment operates efficiently and produces product that meets quality standards.
Set up equipment to meet specific customer requirements.
Perform and document quality checks to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications.
Retrieve cores, boxes, supplies, and other materials needed for equipment and daily operations.
Inspect equipment for defects and perform general maintenance as necessary.
Read and understand written instructions and job tickets, and comprehend verbal instructions.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Participate in department meetings, training, and continuous improvement events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
