About The Position

The schedule for this full-time, 2nd shift bindery position is: Monday – Thursday, 3 PM to 1 AM (10-hour shifts). Ideal candidates will have experience working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with sound attention to detail. As a Bindery - Operator II you will be responsible for the set up, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of applicable equipment. The equipment operated includes, but is not limited to: Collators, 3-Knife Trimmers, Folders, Flatbed Trimmers, Tipper, 3-Hole Drill, and Belly Band. Required Systems/Applications: AS400 or Monarch.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months in a Bindery role.
  • Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
  • Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
  • Ability to work required overtime beyond the standard 40-hour workweek depending on production requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with sound attention to detail.
  • Experience operating Collators, 3-Knife Trimmers, Folders, Flatbed Trimmers, Tipper, 3-Hole Drill, and Belly Band.
  • Experience with AS400 or Monarch systems.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, run, and maintain assigned machinery.
  • Troubleshoot assigned machinery according to company procedures and practices to assure efficiency and quality to meet the required production schedule.
  • Read and understand the written information pertaining to the job.
  • Strive to meet or exceed departmental and company goals.
  • Interpret and apply department policies, procedures and job instructions accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with incoming shift personnel to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate counts.
  • Follow all safety procedures as set forth by Walsworth.
  • Move and organize scheduled work for assigned machinery.
  • Assist in training new Bindery Operators.
  • Monitor production and quality to make recommendations on process improvements.
  • All other duties as assigned.
