About The Position

The Bindery - Operator II is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining applicable bindery equipment. Equipment may include collators, 3-knife trimmers, folders, flatbed trimmers, a tipper, a 3-hole drill, and a belly band. The role uses AS400 or Monarch systems/applications and supports production efficiency, quality, and departmental goals.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 6 months of experience in a bindery role.
Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures, and related materials.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong customer service skills.
Ability to communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
Ability to work required overtime beyond the standard 40-hour workweek depending on production requirements.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain assigned machinery.
Troubleshoot assigned machinery according to company procedures and practices to ensure efficiency and quality while meeting the production schedule.
Read and understand written information pertaining to assigned jobs.
Strive to meet or exceed departmental and company goals.
Interpret and accurately apply department policies, procedures, and job instructions.
Communicate effectively with incoming shift personnel to support smooth transitions and minimize disruptions.
Maintain accurate counts.
Follow Walsworth safety procedures.
Move and organize scheduled work for assigned machinery.
Assist in training new Bindery Operators.
Monitor production and quality and make recommendations for process improvements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
