About The Position

The Bin Repair Laborer is responsible for the restoration of wooden cranberry crates by removing defective wood and replacing it with new wood components. This role involves the safe operation of various tools for bin repair, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and advising the Supervisor or Lead Worker of any operational, equipment, or safety issues. The position also includes staging bin components, performing forklift operations, supporting receiving station harvest operations, snow removal, assisting with waste disposal, and maintaining accurate logs of inbound and outbound shipments. Responsibilities

  • Restoration of wooden cranberry crates by removing defective wood and replacing with new wood components.
  • Safe operation of tools used for the repair of bins, including a pneumatic stapler, nail gun, hammer, pry bar, chisel, cutters, and Sawzall.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Advise the Supervisor or Lead Worker of any operational problems, equipment failure, or safety and quality issues.
  • Stage cranberry bin bottoms and sides for stacking and/or repair.
  • Attend work on a timely and consistent basis.
  • Perform forklift operations such as staging cranberry bins, loading and unloading bins from trucks, and transporting bin sides and bottoms into the plant for repair.
  • Support Receiving Station’s harvest operations by assisting with harvest set-up, monitoring operational efficiency of assigned harvest equipment, and supporting routine maintenance, sanitation/end of year harvest cleanup.
  • Remove snow physically where needed and by means of large equipment on sidewalks and driving surfaces.
  • Assist with loading trucks to dispose of waste produced by the Process and Receiving operations.
  • Maintain accurate logs of inbound and outbound shipments.
