About The Position

A BIM/VDC Manager position is available at Garney. The BIM/VDC Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of virtual design and construction (VDC) processes on infrastructure and construction projects. This role leads BIM coordination efforts, supports project teams with digital construction tools, and ensures alignment with project goals and company standards. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with leadership and collaboration skills to drive innovation and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in BIM/VDC roles within the construction industry
  • Expert knowledge of BIM/VDC tools such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Synchro
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and project delivery processes
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Knowledge of clash detection, model-based quantity takeoffs, and 4D simulation

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • Prior leadership or management experience
  • Experience with infrastructure or water/wastewater projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead BIM coordination and clash detection processes during preconstruction and construction phases
  • Develop and maintain BIM execution plans and project-specific VDC strategies
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to integrate BIM into project workflows
  • Manage and support 3D/4D/5D model development for design reviews, scheduling, and estimating
  • Oversee the creation and management of construction models, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Train and mentor internal teams on VDC tools, standards, and best practices
  • Work closely with external consultants, subcontractors, and design teams on model integration
  • Support quality assurance, field layout, and constructability reviews using BIM platforms
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance project delivery and field collaboration
  • Maintain compliance with client BIM standards and documentation requirements
