About The Position

The Accounting Technician responsible for the billing and collections process for private-pay patients and other financial accounts will post payments and prepare deposits while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy through the application of bookkeeping and accounting principles.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Five years of billing experience
General knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, procedures and equipment
Knowledge of accounting principles and related data processing equipment
General knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payor regulations, processes and procedures
Knowledge of standard office procedures, practices and equipment
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
Possess ability to establish and follow detailed work procedures
Ability to post accounts and to perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy

Responsibilities

Financial counseling to patients
Posting self-pay payments
Completing and sending deposit sheets for payments
Reviewing credits on accounts
Submitting refund requests as needed
Updating estimated charges
