About The Position

Cox Automotive is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist I to join its Billing team in Cherryville, North Carolina, or work remotely within the United States. The role supports accurate and timely billing operations for Cox Fleet, with a focus on the unprocessed team and contacting service providers about invoices. The specialist codes, audits, and processes invoices, resolves discrepancies, and helps ensure billing workflows are completed efficiently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of work accurately.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using computers and office equipment for data entry, faxing, emailing, and document copying.
• Prior experience with VMRS coding and billing.

Responsibilities

• Contact service providers regarding invoice discrepancies or inquiries.
• Determine and mark invoices as Work & Cost Complete (WACC).
• Audit invoices for discrepancies and verify that the customer’s approval limit allows processing.
• Drag and drop invoices into appropriate events within the system.
• Execute TMCare resets as applicable.
• Process rebills for Roadside and TMCare services.
• Index invoices into the workflow system.
• Perform VMRS coding and costing of invoices, and audit invoices to ensure correct billing.
• Respond to Purchase Order (PO) line inquiries and handle overflow calls.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned within the Billing department.
