This role obtains insurance information, referral forms, and counsels patients on financial assistance over the phone. It also schedules and registers patients over the phone or by email, with no direct patient contact. The position involves communicating with physicians and clinical staff to assist with scheduling urgent or referred patient scheduling calls/requests. It provides patient scheduling services, including collecting demographics and insurance registration, and reviews schedules for new patients, making updates as necessary. The associate calls patients with appointment time reminders, obtains insurance information and referral forms, and processes internal physician referrals for clinical care. Additionally, the role explains the billing process to patients, answers inquiries from patients and third-party payers, and works with others to solve moderately complex problems. The associate also explains the billing process to other staff, assists with basic account maintenance, and helps patients with insurance questions regarding the billing process. Further duties include assisting staff with sending out reminder cards and other scheduling duties, and working with the Relatient patient reminder system to contact patients or make scheduling changes. The role may also involve making daily edits and temporary changes to provider scheduling templates based on physician input.
