This position is for a Wisconsin vacancy specific to Workers Compensation. The Billing Follow-up Rep I will independently review accounts and apply billing follow-up knowledge required for all insurance payors to ensure proper and maximum reimbursement. They will use multiple systems to resolve outstanding claims according to compliance guidelines. This role involves pre-billing/billing and follow-up activity on open insurance claims, exercising revenue cycle knowledge (e.g., CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS, NDC, revenue codes and medical terminology). The representative will obtain necessary documentation from various resources, communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers, and act as a liaison with external third-party representatives to validate and correct information. They will comprehend incoming insurance correspondence, respond appropriately, and identify/report patterns and trends to leadership regarding coding, compliance, contracting, claim form edits/errors, and credentialing. The role also involves staying updated on insurance payer updates/changes, single case agreements, and assisting management with recommendations for edit/alert implementation. Accurate data entry and updates into the patient accounting system are required, as well as appealing claims to ensure contracted amounts are received. The position requires compliance with KPI standards for assigned payers and maintaining clear, accurate documentation of all billing and follow-up efforts. The representative must understand Advocate Aurora Health policies and departmental collection policies and procedures, demonstrating proficiency in system usage. This position refers to the supervisor for approval on write-offs, issues outside the normal scope of activity, and recommendations regarding unusual account information.
