Requirements

  • High School graduate required
  • Automated billing systems experience required
  • Requires frequent and constant judgment for timely response to patient and staff questions and concerns.
  • Requires language skills adequate for effective written and interpersonal communication in American English.
  • Require visual and auditory acuity adequate for frequent use of computers and occasional use of other business office equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Four years of medical facility or medical business office experience preferred
  • Experience in customer relations or teaching preferred
  • Experience in third party payer requirements preferred
  • Training/experience in business office activities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for proper communication with patients, staff, and management regarding account status.
  • Generates patient account statements, maintains accounts receivable files, and follow up on collection of receivables.
  • Responsible for ensuring claims are billed timely with accurate coding.
  • Communicates with appropriate staff to ensure all charges are being captures through proper documentation.
  • Reviews financial obligation with patient and family member.
