The Billing and Collections Coordinator is responsible for supporting Billing and Collections staff. This role assists leadership in assuring confidentiality is maintained and HIPAA compliance is adhered to. The position involves submitting and following up on authorization requests and appeals, requesting and tracking hospital records, and submitting/mailing appeal letters, claims, and other correspondence to insurance companies. The coordinator will also document accounts, review and distribute incoming correspondence, and may complete claim status checks and rebills. Additionally, this role assists in training new hires and continuous training efforts.
