About The Position

The Billing and Claims Specialist will be able to recognize delays in the billing process. The Billing and Claims Specialist will perform various functions that will enable Intermountain Health to submit its claims to the payers in a timely and correct manner.   • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct medical coverage is applied to the account based on the date of service.
  • Resolve issues preventing the billing of the claim such as; stop bills, DNB’s, coverage changes, overlapping accounts
  • Understand payer specific requirements as well as state and federal requirements for claims.
  • Be responsible for the undo billing and NRP functions and activities
  • Monitor assigned work queues and accounts with outstanding balances or unbilled claims.
  • Identify and report trends and propose solutions.

  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding productivity and quality goals.
