Requirements

  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must maintain professional appearance consistent with the hospital dress code
  • Must be able to effectively deal with emotional/difficult customer behavior(s)
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Responsibilities

  • Providing a welcoming environment for all patients and guests to Patient Financial Services and directing them to proper resource personnel.
  • Initially screening patients or responsible relatives and referring them to the Collection Representative or when possible, answering their questions and/or obtaining information.
  • Answering and directing incoming telephone calls and scheduling patient appointments to review their hospital account balances.
  • Ensuring that the lobby area is clean, organized and safe at all times.
  • Preparing daily cash deposit.
  • Utilizing hospital computer systems to provide basic information such as locating patient accounts and to conduct clerical data entry for the unit, and other clerical duties as assigned.
