This position performs routine clerical work, requiring the ability to write, spell, and speak correctly in both English and Spanish, and to make simple arithmetical calculations. The role involves assisting in the preparation and reinforcement of bilingual learning materials, performing record keeping, taking attendance, filling out forms, and interpreting for non-English speaking parents. The clerk will also operate office equipment, register new students, communicate between school, teacher, and parents, make home visits for oral translation, and translate written documents from English to Spanish. Additional duties may include assisting in other areas during periods of reduced staff or peak workloads, such as school clerical and health assistance.
