About The Position

The Bilingual Training Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, conducting, and tracking all new hire onboarding classroom training. This role involves becoming familiar with and supporting the PEERs program, overseeing and coordinating online work experiences with new hires and certified trainers, and developing relationships with new hires as a primary contact and liaison during their first month of employment. The coordinator will also manage monthly and annual safety and quality training, including scheduling and preparing materials. Flexibility in work hours, including mandatory overtime when business needs require, is expected. The role requires the ability to move to different lines and responsibilities, safely work with and around moving equipment, and communicate effectively with team members. Regular and dependable attendance is crucial. The coordinator must comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures, and be able to meet the physical requirements of the job. Establishing and implementing safe operating practices, educating team members on quality workmanship, and providing leadership to utilize team members' talents are key functions. Coaching and mentoring team members on safety, quality, and productivity to achieve department goals, identifying improvement opportunities, and having daily contact with all levels of management are also part of the role. Additionally, the position may involve providing general HR support and completing HR-related projects, seeking development and growth opportunities, maintaining confidentiality, working closely with the staffing agency (RPO), coordinating the progression program, assisting with the tuition assistance program, and working with 260E funding. The role also includes leading new hire candidate tours, participating in interviews, interpreting for English Language Learner candidates, and coordinating, conducting, and tracking the Certified Trainer program. Support will be provided to managers and production coordinators in completing new team member checklists. Other duties may be assigned in HR and Manufacturing Areas, assisting in Career Fairs, and developing community relationships to promote Pella Corporation’s goal of attracting manufacturing talent.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Pass pre-employment tests.

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Must be able to translate documents between English and Spanish.
  • Must be able to create and revise training materials.
  • Decision making / problem solving in a manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrate leadership and adaptability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Use of hand tools and machinery is required.
  • Requires written and oral communication skills and the cognitive ability to learn the safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Learn, comprehend and implement Lock Out/Tag Out and safety and quality procedures to assure the safe and proper operation of the equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, conduct, and track all new hire on-boarding classroom training
  • Become familiar and supportive of each plant’s PEERs program
  • Oversee and coordinate on-line work experiences with new hire and certified trainers.
  • Develop relationship with new hires as primary contact and liaison during first month of employment with follow up at 30 and 60 days. Assist with all questions, concerns, and other issues encountered in order to ease transition for new team members.
  • Coordinate and manage monthly and annual safety and quality training, including scheduling, preparing trainings, electronic sign-off for team members.
