The Survivor Services Specialist provides direct services to and advocacy for victims of domestic violence within Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH). The Specialist will provide assessments of adult victims of domestic violence and assess the impact of domestic violence on children and the family unit, as well as provide short term direct case management for a limited caseload. The position will also coordinate services for adults and children and make referrals to both internal FSS staff, and external Partner Organizations. Will also collect and maintain data for project reporting and provide training and consultation to other CCH staff. NOTE: In order to ensure that our consumers receive the best possible care the candidate chosen to fill this position will be required to complete our internal credentialing and privileging process prior to a start date. The credentialing and privileging timeline is dependent on the selected candidate's submission of documents necessary for clearance. Please note that a start date will be scheduled once credentialing and privileging is complete.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • One year of experience working with survivors of domestic violence is required.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience and sensitivity working with low-income or homeless families preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or equivalent field strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services, including assessments, safety planning, resource connection and support, to survivors of crime.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients and coordinate access to internal and external services, including partner organizations and FSS staff.
  • Provide timely in-home and on-site emergency support during normal business hours for clients experiencing crises.
  • Conduct assessments of adult victims and evaluate the impact of domestic violence on children and the family unit; ensure service delivery meets required standards and grant expectations.
  • Provide training and consultation to CCH staff to enhance understanding and response to domestic violence issues.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and ethical standards; complete accurate and timely documentation in HMIS and EHR systems; participate in FSS meetings and professional trainings; support grant research and application to expand program services.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support program and organizational objectives.
