About The Position

Assisting Hands Home Care – Merrillville is hiring a compassionate and dependable caregiver to provide non-medical in-home care for a client in Lowell, Indiana. The ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is required to support the client's daily care, safety, and overall well-being. Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish to meet client care needs
• High school diploma or GED
• Previous 1 year caregiving, home care, CNA, HHA, or related experience preferred
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance
• Must pass a national background check
• Current TB test or ability to obtain one
• Dependable, compassionate, professional, and client-focused

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, ambulation, and transfers according to the individualized Plan of Care
• Provide companionship and meaningful social engagement
• Maintain a clean and safe home environment through light housekeeping, laundry, dishwashing, and organizing
• Assist with mobility devices such as walkers and wheelchairs
• Provide medication reminders (no medication administration)
• Observe and report changes in the client's condition, appearance, or behavior
• Maintain accurate records of services provided
• Use our mobile app to clock in/out, communicate with the office, and complete care documentation
• Follow infection control, safety, and agency policies and procedures
• Maintain professional and respectful communication with clients, families, and team members
