Job Summary The Site Supervisor assists the Site Manager with hiring, scheduling, and training. The Site Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of custodial employees for day shifts. Ensures custodial employees are maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned areas. Inspects areas, equipment, and working conditions to ensure compliance with sanitation and OSHA regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be detail oriented and a team player.
  • Minimum of one (1) years of progressively responsible experience in operations preferred.
  • Comfortable and able to work at elevated heights on catwalks and from a scissor lift.
  • Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a full-body safety harness.
  • Experience operating a scissor lift is preferred (training may be provided if applicable).
  • Must be Boom Lift and Forklift Certified (current certification preferred)
  • Minimum of one (1) years of supervisory experience, managing direct reports, preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook. PowerPoint).

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout an entire shift on various surfaces including concrete, tile, and carpet; ability to climb stairs and navigate multi-floor facilities as needed
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. unassisted frequently; up to 35 infrequently
  • Must be able to push and maneuver loaded janitorial carts, trash receptacles, and supply carts weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently; up to 35 infrequently
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and overhead reaching up to 8 feet using a step stool or ladder; repeated twisting and extension of arms and shoulders while mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and wiping surfaces
  • Ability to grip, squeeze, and manipulate cleaning tools, spray bottles, brooms, mops, and equipment controls repeatedly throughout the shift; manual dexterity sufficient to operate floor buffers, auto scrubbers, wet/dry vacuums, and steam cleaners
  • Ability to identify areas requiring cleaning, inspect surfaces for soil and residue, and read product labels and safety data sheets (SDS); ability to distinguish colors sufficient to sort waste streams and identify chemical products
  • Must be able to work in environments with varying temperatures including outdoor areas, and high-humidity areas such as restrooms and kitchens; ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and allergens while following all PPE and safety protocols
  • Capable of maintaining consistent physical output throughout the shift with standard rest breaks
  • Comfortable and able to work at elevated heights, including on catwalks and from a scissor lift, while maintaining safe work practices at all times
  • Able to wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a full-body safety harness, in accordance with company safety policies

Responsibilities

  • Assists Site Manager with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Assists Site Manager by providing constructive feedback and timely performance evaluations.
  • Assists Site Manager with discipline and termination of department staff in accordance with company policy.
  • Coordinates and supervises the activities of employees in the custodial program and ensures custodial service expectations are met at the job site.
  • Trains and instructs employees in tasks, safety, policies, and procedures. Takes appropriate action and reports accidents and incidents to the Site Manager immediately.
  • Ensures custodial personnel have the equipment and supplies necessary to perform their job.
  • Conducts regular quality, service, and safety inspections of assigned areas and reports the results of the inspections with particular emphasis on needed repairs.
  • Evaluates and recommends new custodial supplies and equipment by conducting testing and ensures specified contract services are provided by the contractor by inspecting the work performed.
  • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Provides recommendations for corrective action in areas that need improvement.
  • Works with Site Manager to maximize profitability.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
