About The Position

Exceed Safety is a nationwide full spectrum consulting firm based in NC. We provide advanced consultants and use cutting edge technology and methods of risk management. We are not a staffing company. This role is for a specialty mechanical subcontractor and requires a strong background in construction safety practices. The Safety Manager will be responsible for tracking, documenting, and supporting safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.

Requirements

  • Must have obtained OSHA 500
  • Minimum 8 years of safety experience, with at least 5 years of management experience.
  • Bilingual - Spanish/English
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, equipment, and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or equivalent are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and enforce safety programs, policies, and procedures specific to the workplace
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Conduct safety training and audits
  • Lead and manage on-site safety teams
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Track safety training for employees, including new hires and ongoing training sessions.
  • Maintain documentation on incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Conduct root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on construction sites.
  • Manage safety documentation and records, including incident reports and training records.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
  • Stay informed about advancements in construction safety practices and recommend improvements to existing programs.
