About The Position

This role is responsible for providing second-level pharmacy systems business support for store-level pharmacy systems and applications, primarily for Quebec. The incumbent will evaluate testing, create user documentation for functional processes and data conversions of pharmacy management systems, and provide on-site support when required. They will also perform impact analysis and develop functional solutions for third-party adjudication issues, programs, and initiatives. This is a 1-year term contract position.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Two to three years of similar and/or related work experience and pharmacy practice experience in Quebec.
  • Two to three years of advanced experience/knowledge of current pharmacy business practices, prescription claims processes, workflows, and pharmacy legislation, including in-depth knowledge of provincial and third-party drug plan rules and adjudication processes in Quebec (national knowledge an asset).
  • Two to three years of Pharmacy Assistant experience or management at store level or a successfully completed Pharmacy Technician Program.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and understanding of Assyst-Rx pharmacy management system.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the pharmacy landscape in Quebec, including regulations impacting pharmacy practice, prescription reimbursement plans, prescription claims processing (public and private), clinical programs, pharmacy workflow, and health technology.
  • Thorough understanding of RAMQ, AQPP, the CPhA03 Pharmacy Claim Standard, and the CLHIA Coordination of Benefits Guideline.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Electronic Health Records (DSQ).
  • Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of integration of MMS/EPOS/accounting and any SDM software.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the second-level pharmacy systems business support for stores and field resources as it relates to pharmacy data conversions, including migration from legacy to new pharmacy management systems, acquisitions, and mergers.
  • Develop user acceptance testing (UAT) strategy and execute UAT, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate unique needs of acquired businesses.
  • Create recommendations for catered solutions and store user documentation.
  • Research and test various functional solutions, strategies, and tactics to create and update reference material content specific to the pharmacy application regarding third-party adjudication issues, expanded scope of pharmacy practice, and pharmacy initiatives.
  • Support development, testing, and implementation of new pharmacy management systems as required.
  • Liaise with the Pharmacy Enhanced Support team in providing ongoing support and training of new pharmacy-related programs, initiatives, and issues management.
  • Analyze, research, and develop business rules to assist with operational impact analysis, testing, documentation content, planning, implementation, and integration of pharmacy programs and initiatives.
  • Develop a deployment and support plan for all PHX pharmacies (hardware and network) in collaboration with central LCL teams and oversee the execution of design activities.
  • Manage training execution for pharmacy system users.
  • Oversee and facilitate the preparation of deployment communications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure visibility to other initiatives, direct needs to appropriate channels, ensure task ownership, and avoid duplication of effort.
  • Support AssystRx software releases in collaboration with Telus.
  • Coordinate, oversee, and support ongoing hardware fixes and requests from stores.
  • Provide AssystRX hardware and network support, support operations and internal processes (Snow, dashboards, SLAs, etc.) in coordination with Telus or other stakeholders.
  • Support franchise ownership changes regarding adjudication licenses, connectivity, and accounting setup.
  • Support finance and accounting central office teams on inventory issues and financial reporting.
  • Support the acquisition team in due diligence of new opportunities, counseling, and reporting.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.
  • Occasional travel will be required.
