About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, bilingual (English/Spanish) Panel Processing Supervisor to lead daily operations in the Panel Processing department of our cabinet manufacturing facility. This role oversees the cutting, edgebanding, boring/drilling, and machining of panel components, ensuring production goals are met safely, on time, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can communicate effectively with a diverse workforce, drive continuous improvement, and develop team members.

Requirements

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) — able to train, coach, and document in both languages
  • 3+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment; wood products, cabinetry, millwork, or panel processing strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of panel processing equipment: panel saws, CNC routers, edgebanders, and boring machines
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, cut lists, and work orders
  • Strong understanding of safety practices in a woodworking/manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, production/ERP software)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with nested-based manufacturing and CNC programming/software (e.g., Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, or similar)
  • Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement training
  • Forklift certification
  • Associate degree or technical training in manufacturing, wood technology, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and direct panel processing team members (machine operators, material handlers, and support staff) across all department operations
  • Oversee operation of panel saws, CNC routers/nested-based machining centers, edgebanders, and point-to-point boring machines
  • Plan and prioritize daily production schedules to meet delivery commitments and minimize downtime
  • Monitor product quality throughout the process; ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances, edgeband quality, and finish standards; address defects and rework promptly
  • Communicate job expectations, safety procedures, and training in both English and Spanish
  • Train, coach, and develop team members; conduct performance evaluations and support career growth
  • Enforce all safety policies and OSHA requirements; lead safety meetings, ensure proper PPE use and machine guarding, and investigate incidents
  • Track and report key metrics (output, scrap/yield, downtime, labor efficiency) and drive continuous improvement initiatives (lean, 5S)
  • Coordinate with maintenance on preventive maintenance schedules and equipment repairs
  • Manage material flow into and out of the department; coordinate with scheduling, assembly, and finishing departments
  • Maintain accurate production records, timekeeping, and attendance for the department
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager
