About The Position

Join our team as a Bilingual Junior Analyst, Corporate Development! In this role you’ll be collaborating with our Corporate Development Team assisting in the sourcing and analysis of potential acquisition targets to achieve annual KPI’s including acquired EBITDA, IRR, and related targets. You’ll build strong relationships with internal teams and externally with vendor optometrists and their advisors. This position is based at our Home Office in Calgary, Alberta.

Requirements

  • Bilingualism (French/English) is required to communicate daily with team members across Canada
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong academic record with a degree in Business or Finance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong financial modelling skills and research skills
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, capital markets, and valuation concepts
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectively

Nice To Haves

  • M&A experience is an asset, through post secondary education and/or working experience
  • A desire to work towards a professional designation (CFA, CBV, CPA, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the management of deal flow during the valuation process, including but not limited to, preparing NDA’s, assisting with the due diligence and analysis, drafting offer presentations, and drafting term sheets
  • Assisting in financial modelling of acquisition opportunities
  • Managing and updating the CRM system with accurate data on leads, opportunities, and communications to ensure effective tracking and reporting of business development activities
  • Assisting in the sourcing and analysis of potential acquisition targets
  • Collaborating with the Business Development team to coordinate targeted outreach campaigns aimed at generating leads for mergers and acquisitions
  • Assisting in tracking the progress and outcomes of past acquisitions to evaluate their success and inform future strategic decisions
  • Proactively identifying and undertaking additional tasks, continuously seeking opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency within the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and organizational goals
