About The Position

Support the CSISD MTSS initiatives to improve student performance in academic subject areas. This role involves providing small group support for students needing interventions, collaborating with classroom teachers, and participating in the Student Intervention Team. The interventionist will also progress monitor students, participate in professional development, and serve on the Campus Leadership Team. Additionally, the role includes acting as a liaison for district-wide meetings, modeling best instructional practices, providing parent training, and managing student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
  • Literacy: Demonstrates competency in literacy instruction
  • Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies in the area of literacy
  • Knowledge of Response to Intervention instructional strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to maintain organized records
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of the State and Federal requirements regarding the assessment of students’ instructional program
  • At least 3 years teaching experience

  • Master’s Degree in Education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the acquisition and inventory of materials
  • Prepares and submits reports as required
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities,
  • Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and community members
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
  • Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
  • Compile maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.
