About The Position

This is an as-needed position for a Bilingual Interpreter/Translator. The role requires excellent communication skills in Spanish and/or Marshallese, cultural competency, and the ability to accurately convert spoken or written words between languages in real-time while preserving the original meaning, intent, and tone. The interpreter will serve as a linguistic bridge, ensuring clear communication between individuals who speak different languages. The position also requires adaptability, dependability, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills in one or more languages (Spanish, Marshallese)

• Ability to convert spoken or written words from one language into another in real-time, maintaining the original meaning, intent, and tone of the speaker.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a vital linguistic bridge, ensuring clear and effective communication between parties who speak different languages.
• Convert spoken or written words from one language into another in real-time, maintaining the original meaning, intent, and tone of the speaker.
• Support the philosophy and mission of USD 250.
• Comply with the privacy rights of students.
• Safeguard confidential and/or sensitive information.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
• Provide excellence in customer service.
• Meet attendance standards to perform the essential functions of the job.
