About The Position
Shining Stars Montessori Academy PCS seeks a dynamic Bilingual Immersion Instructional Coach to support the AVANZA dual-language program (PK3–Grade 3). This role ensures high-quality bilingual instruction aligned to Montessori principles, biliteracy development, and equitable outcomes for multilingual learners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's required
- Fluency in Spanish and English required
- Experience in dual-language/immersion programs required
- 5+ years teaching experience
Nice To Haves
- Master's preferred
- Montessori certification experience highly preferred
- coaching experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Coach teachers in bilingual/dual-language instructional practices and Montessori integration
- Support Spanish Language Arts and content instruction (including math in Spanish)
- Monitor student progress in both languages; support data analysis and targeted interventions
- Ensure alignment to Montessori standards and Common Core in both languages
- Collaborate with ELL and Special Education teams to support diverse learners
- Lead bilingual professional development and curriculum implementation
- Support family communication and engagement in both English and Spanish
- Serve on the Academic Leadership Team
- Coach 8–10 teachers per cycle using data-driven, research-based strategies
- Support professional development, teacher growth, and instructional excellence
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and student-centered school culture
- Uphold Montessori philosophy while ensuring compliance with DC and charter expectations
