About The Position

Shining Stars Montessori Academy PCS seeks an experienced educator to serve as Elementary Instructional Coach (Grades 3–6). This role supports upper elementary Guides in delivering rigorous, standards-aligned Montessori instruction that promotes independence, critical thinking, and strong academic outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an accredited public charter Montessori school and professional learning community in Washington, DC.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Montessori Elementary Certification (required)
• 5–7 years teaching experience

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred (Elementary Education or related field)
• Instructional leadership experience preferred
• Strong background in upper elementary instruction and student data analysis

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional coaching through observation, modeling, co-teaching, and feedback
• Support alignment of Montessori curriculum with Common Core standards
• Lead data analysis cycles to improve student achievement and close learning gaps
• Support implementation of literacy (ARC), math, and interdisciplinary Montessori studies
• Collaborate with Student Support and ELL teams to ensure differentiated instruction
• Assist in assessment planning, progress monitoring, and intervention strategies
• Facilitate professional development and contribute to instructional planning
• Serve on the Academic Leadership Team
• Coach 8–10 teachers per cycle using data-driven, research-based strategies
• Support professional development, teacher growth, and instructional excellence
• Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and student-centered school culture
• Uphold Montessori philosophy while ensuring compliance with DC and charter expectations
