Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Spanish language skills are required.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build positive relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies, including HRIS platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Human Resources certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of human resources principles and practices, including benefits, payroll, recruitment, and employee support processes are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees visiting, calling, or emailing the Human Resources office.
  • Respond to general questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, leave administration, and other employee programs.
  • Direct employees to the appropriate HR team members and resources while ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
  • Provide administrative support across multiple HR functions, including benefits administration, payroll, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and training initiatives.
  • Maintain HR records, files, and databases with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with compliance tracking, required training records, and HR documentation to support regulatory requirements.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and assist with HR communications, newsletters, and campus announcements.
  • Translate basic HR communications and documents into Spanish and provide interpretation support for Spanish-speaking employees as needed.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty and staff by helping address questions and escalating matters appropriately.
  • Support the College's Principles of Community and Institutional Values through daily interactions and service.
  • Contribute to special projects and additional HR initiatives as assigned.
