This role involves helping patients enroll in discount or insurance programs to access necessary medical, dental, and behavioral care. The position requires experience with healthcare enrollment, state and federal programs, insurance terminology, and eligibility criteria. Candidates should be adept at analyzing data, using electronic health records (EHR), online application portals, and basic office software. Empathy, a positive and approachable demeanor, and experience in a float or multi-site role are essential. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Attention to detail for critical information to determine patient eligibility and applications.
  • Ability to analyze complex data to determine correct eligible patient programs.
  • Strong communication skills, including proactively asking for help.
  • Ability to travel as needed to different clinic sites.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and empathy when interacting with patients.
  • Applicants must be 21+ to comply with job-related driving requirements.
  • Demonstrate role competency, as determined by their manager (for less experienced candidates).

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced with healthcare enrollment, including state and federal programs, eligibility criteria, insurance terminology, and coverage types.
  • Experience absorbing and analyzing large amounts of data.
  • Experienced with electronic health records (EHR), online application portals, and basic office software.
  • Experience in a float or multi-site role.
  • Experience with training taking approximately six weeks even with prior enrollment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Talk with patients to explain complex insurance terms and program requirements in an understandable way.
  • Prescreen patients to assess program qualifications and ensure they have the necessary documents for enrollment.
  • Meet with walk-in and scheduled patients to complete the application process.
  • Maintain detailed records of documents, applications, and billing information in the EHR.
  • Add payors to patient records.
  • Prepare and submit reports by deadlines.
  • Travel to multiple clinic sites (Denver, Thornton, Westminster) to provide Enrollment Services.
  • Serve the community and assist grateful patients.
