About The Position
As a Department Manager Intern for Pella Corporation, you must have a strong passion and drive to develop the people around you to perform at their peak potential. You must be loyal, conscientious and possess a strong desire to succeed and constantly improve. This internship program offers participants the chance to learn and apply continuous improvement (CI) (Kaizen, Lean Mfg.) principles through projects and teams, while working side by side with Department Managers.
Requirements
- Must have a strong passion and drive to develop the people around you to perform at their peak potential.
- Must be loyal, conscientious and possess a strong desire to succeed and constantly improve.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Post-offer background check and drug screen required.
- Pella participates in E-Verify.
- Pella will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
Responsibilities
- Manage factory team members.
- Responsibilities regarding safety, quality, and productivity.
- Maintain budget for labor efficiencies in department.
- Continuous improvement (CI) - (Kaizen, Lean Mfg.).
- Reward and hold team members accountable.
- Learning and applying continuous improvement (CI) (Kaizen, Lean Mfg.) principles through projects and teams.
- Working side by side with Department Managers.
